Since our establishment in 1936, Cancer Council Victoria has developed an international reputation for our innovative work in cancer research, prevention and support. As an independent, not-for-profit organisation, we play a leading role in reducing the impact of all cancers on all people.
This volunteering role provides the opportunity to work with teams across the organisation, including opportunities in the Heritage Team, the Fundraising and Communication Division, Prevention Division and Strategy and Support Division.
About your opportunity
The Prevention and Campaign Support Intern will participate in three consecutive rotations through different teams. Each team will require you to engage with different tasks, such as:
- Manage and preserve historical material.
- Make outbound calls to existing supporters.
- Provide administrative and research support to various public health campaign teams.
- Assist with the planning and creation of social media content.
All about you
We are looking for someone with:
- Progress towards an undergraduate degree in public health, social sciences, humanities, or a related field.
- Excellent written communication skills and experience with Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated interest in the not-for-profit sector.
- Flexibility to undertake multiple new tasks across a short period of time.

- Training and ongoing support will be provided. We also offer a flexible and friendly work environment, social and wellbeing activities, and a central location close to public transport.
- Applicants for this volunteering opportunity must commit to one day a week for six months, between September 2026 and March 2027. Agreed days and hours are negotiable.
