The Victorian Cancer Registry (VCR) is Victoria’s trusted source of cancer data, providing insights that drive research, policy, and better outcomes. Our Quality assurance and Innovation team ensures that VCR captures high quality data to accurately understand the cancer landscape in Victoria. This position will work closely with the Data Analytics team, responsible for managing the import and analysis of complex data into the registry.
About your opportunity
Reporting to the Manager – Cancer Information, this role is responsible for coordinating electronic notifications from radiotherapy services across Victoria and supporting the ongoing development of the Victorian Radiotherapy Minimum Dataset (VRMDS).
You will play a central role in ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant data flows into the registry, while supporting system improvements and stakeholder engagement.
You will
- Assist in the establishment and ongoing maintenance of systems to monitor incoming data for completeness and compliance with reporting guidelines
- Oversee data quality, validation, and efficient processing of radiotherapy notifications into the registry
- Manage the Victorian Cancer Registry Internet Portal (VCRIP), supporting users and ensuring smooth data submission from radiotherapy services
- Drive ongoing improvements to VRMDS, systems, reporting, and stakeholder engagement across the sector
All about you
We are looking for someone with:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in health information, science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- An interest in analysing data to enhance compliance checking
- Experience working with health data, electronic data systems, or data quality processes
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve data issues
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and coordinate multiple activities
- Experience in reporting, documentation, and applying quality assurance processes
- High-level computer skills, including Microsoft Office

- Salary: $76,411 to $82,291 base salary per annum (pro rata for part-time), commensurate with experience, plus 12% superannuation and 17.5% annual leave loading.
