The Centre for Behavioural Research in Cancer’s (CBRC) mission is to conduct high quality applied behavioural research to inform and influence cancer prevention policies, programs and services, in order to reduce the impact of cancer on the Victorian community. The Centre’s work program encompasses behavioural research in the areas of tobacco control, skin cancer prevention, obesity prevention, alcohol harm prevention and cancer screening. CBRC also leads the research and evaluation activities of the Quit Program, including the Quitline service – a multi-session telephone behavioural counselling service for smoking and vaping cessation.
About your opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Research and Evaluation Officer to join the Centre for Behavioural Research in Cancer. Reporting to the Research & Evaluation Manager, Quit your role is to:
- Lead the implementation of evaluation and monitoring initiatives in accordance with agreed frameworks and plans
- Coordinate data collection, collation, analysis, and reporting, ensuring appropriate data management and quality control procedures are in place
- Prepare and disseminate monitoring, research insights and evaluation presentations and reports and, as appropriate, papers for peer-reviewed journal publication
- Build, develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external collaborators and other stakeholders
All about you
We are looking for someone with:
- A tertiary degree in psychology, public health, evaluation or related discipline
- Experience managing and coordinating research or evaluation studies, including the demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively to achieve tasks in agreed timeframes
- Extensive experience in conducting multivariate statistical analysis using Stata or SPSS and the ability to interpret outputs
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to clearly communicate research findings to others including non-researchers.

- Salary: $89,299 to $98,632 base salary per annum (pro rata for part-time), commensurate with experience, plus 12% superannuation and 17.5% annual leave loading.
