The Corporate Services Division incorporates governance, finance, legal, risk, information technology, property and logistics. The focus of the Division is to ensure Cancer Council’s Corporate Services operate to the highest standards of efficiency and effectiveness to ensure compliance and support the organisation to deliver on its Strategic Priorities. The Division also works to ensure the protection and optimisation of the Council’s financial and business assets, and reputation.

The Transactional Finance Team is part of the Finance function which along with Information Technology, Risk, Property & Logistics form the Corporate Services Division at Cancer Council Victoria.  The Team is primarily responsible for the processing of financial transactions including those within the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Fundraising cycles.

About your opportunity

We are seeking an Accounting Clerk to join the Corporate Services Division, reporting to the Transactional Finance Lead.  Your role is to:

  • Ensure accounts payable, accounts receivable and donation transactions are recorded and reported upon within the prescribed control framework.
  • Completion of the accounts payable payment run to ensure supplier accounts are processed and paid within required timeframes.
  • Monitor finance team’s mailbox and ticketing system, ensuring appropriate advice and guidance is provided to CCV colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Ensure the Cancer Council Victoria’s policies and compliance obligations are being met.
  • Provide excellent customer service for both internal and external customer queries, in a timely and efficient manner.

All about you

We are looking for someone with:

  • Certificate in Business/Office Administration or equivalent experience in a similar administrative role
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail as well as excellent numeracy and data entry skills.
  • Transactional experience across multiple functions, accounts receivable, accounts payable, banking.
  • Experience with Finance Management System such as Oracle.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication and a strong customer service ethic.
