The Prevention Division aims to reduce the risk of cancer in the Victorian population through social marketing, advocacy, professional education and providing advice based on the best available evidence. This involves action to affect individual behaviours and the broader physical and legislative environment to support health and wellbeing. Our programs include: SunSmart, Quit Victoria, Achievement Program, Screening, Early Detection and Immunisation (SEDI), and the Food for Health Alliance
About your opportunity
We are seeking a Community Engagement Coordinator – Liver Cancer and Hepatitis B Project to join the Prevention Division. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Liver Cancer, your role is to:
- Support consultation and engagement activities with multicultural communities, local health and community organisations, and local health professionals
- Help co-design and deliver culturally tailored health promotion sessions and resources
- Work collaboratively with local health and community organisations to develop and implement innovative programs that will increase access to care
- Contribute to evaluation, documentation, and reporting activities with funder
All about you
We are looking for someone with:
- Qualifications in public health, community development, health promotion, or a related field
- Experience supporting community engagement with culturally and linguistically diverse populations
- Experience working with health professionals and health and community organisations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of liver cancer prevention and its key risk factors
