The Victorian Cancer Biobank (VCB) is a not-for-profit consortium with members consists of Cancer Council Victoria as the lead agency, Austin Health, Eastern Health, Melbourne Health, Monash Health and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. The purpose is to provide high quality, ethically obtained biospecimens and biospecimen related services to support research that will lead to improvements in cancer diagnosis and treatment. The Central Operations of VCB sits within Victorian Cancer Registry (VCR) Division of Cancer Council Victoria and oversees the overall operations of the consortium, managing the consortium-wide quality framework, data systems, business development and project onboarding.

About your opportunity

We are seeking a Manager, Data Platforms and Strategy to join the Victorian Cancer Biobank. Reporting to the General Manager, VCB your role is to:

  • Develop and deliver VCB data strategy
  • Manage the data platforms of the consortium
  • Provide leadership in managing the data of VCB consortium, including workflow quality and query
  • Perform data analytics for key reporting requirements

All about you

We are looking for someone with:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in health information management and demonstrated experience in a clinical or medical research environment.
  • Extensive experience in managing a relational database
  • Demonstrated leadership experience to develop and implement a data strategy/initiative aligning with organisational goals
  • Demonstrated experience in data analysis, insights generation and reporting
