  • Use your oncology experience, clinical and supportive care knowledge in a unique role to provide support to people affected by cancer

  • This role provides the ability to work flexibly from home, with some visits to our office, based in Victoria Parade, East Melbourne.
  • Part-time (0.4 FTE), 1 year fixed-term parental leave cover position

About your opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Strategy and Support Division. Reporting to the 13 11 20 Manager your role is to:

  • Provide evidence-based information, practical and emotional support to those referred to 13 11 20 service. This includes the use of phone, email and other mediums such as SMS and webforms.
  • Provide appropriate referrals to Cancer Council programs and navigate people to other clinical and community-based services, dependent upon their individual needs
  • Participate in and contribute to the delivery and development of support programs and research initiatives to improve outcomes for people affected by cancer.

All about you

We are looking for someone with:

  • A Registered Nurse currently registered with AHPRA with substantial experience in Oncology and/or Palliative Care Nursing.
  • A demonstrated ability to respond to the information and support needs of people affected by cancer.
  • Highly developed relationship-building, communication, interpersonal and active listening skills.
  • A comprehensive understanding of cancer and its impacts
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills
