The Strategy and Support Division places people at the centre of everything we do. We work directly with clinicians, researchers, policymakers and people affected by Cancer to reduce inequities and improve outcomes for all people affected by cancer, now and into the future. Our division comprises of Cancer Information and Support Services, Research Governance and Business Operations, Cancer Strategy and the McCabe Centre for Law & Cancer.

The Research Governance team, which is part of the Research Governance and Business Operations unit, oversees research governance and integrity for the organisation, including the award of research funding for Victorian researchers and supporting internal researchers to maintain professional standards through the management of Cancer Council Victoria’s research governance and integrity service and Research Administration Office.

About your opportunity

We are seeking a Program Coordinator to join the Research Governance team. Reporting to the Manager, Research Governance your role is to:

  • Provide secretariate support to the Human Research Ethics Committee (committee that reviews research proposals that involve human to ensure research is ethically acceptable)
  • Support the planning, implementation and administration of Cancer Council Victoria’s competitive research grants scheme
  • Act as a primary contact for internal and external researchers with queries and matters related to research ethics and research practices

All about you

We are looking for someone with:

  • Qualifications or equivalent experience in business administration, office management, project management, a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Sound stakeholder management and excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate skills in office-based computer packages (e.g. Microsoft Office products);
  • Practical knowledge of Salesforce CRM
